About the exam

OMVIC Automotive Certification Test

The OMVIC Automotive Certification Test is mandatory for all new motor vehicle dealers and salespeople in Ontario. It is administered through the Automotive Certification Course, developed by Georgian College's Automotive Business School of Canada in partnership with OMVIC — the first program of its kind in Canada when it launched in 1999.

The test has 60 multiple-choice questions, is open book, and must be completed within 90 minutes. You need a minimum of 80% to pass. You have 12 weeks from registration to complete the course and pass the test.

ExamHub's free OMVIC practice quiz has 138 original questions across all 10 major topic areas, based on the official 2024 Georgian College student manual. Every question cites the Act or Regulation behind it, so you can find the rule in your manual during the open-book test.
